1. Dars nomi, maqsad va motivatsiya

Cohesion (bog'lanish) va coherence (izchillik) — alohida gaplarni bir butun, oqib turuvchi matnga aylantiruvchi narsa. Bu — IELTS ning to'g'ridan-to'g'ri baholanadigan mezoni. Writing ballining 25%i ("Coherence and Cohesion") va Speakingning "Fluency and Coherence" qismi aynan shu. Band 9 CC: "uses cohesion in such a way that it attracts no attention; skilfully manages paragraphing". Diqqat — band 9 cohesion sezilmaydi (tabiiy), band 6-7 esa mexanik ("Firstly... Secondly... Moreover... In conclusion" — har gapda ko'rinib turgan linker). Bu — eng ko'p o'rganuvchi yanglishadigan joy.

Sizning maqsadingiz — IELTS 9 va professional yozuv — uchun bu hal qiluvchi: g'oyalaringiz qanchalik yaxshi bo'lmasin, agar matn oqmasa, bog'lanmasa — past ball. Aksincha, mohirona bog'langan matn — examiner/o'quvchini yetaklab boradi.

O'xshatish — "ko'prik va xarita". Matn — shaharlar (g'oyalar) tarmog'i. Cohesion — shaharlarni bog'lovchi ko'priklar (olmosh, bog'lovchi): ularsiz har gap "orol". Coherence — butun yo'l tizimining mantiqiy xaritasi: shaharlar to'g'ri tartibda, manzilga olib boradi. Yaxshi ko'priklar, lekin tasodifiy joylashgan shaharlar (coherence yo'q) — adashtiradi. 4. Native nozikliklari va qo'shimcha qoidalar

  • Linkerlarni HADDAN KO'P ishlatmang (band 6-7 tuzog'i): "Firstly... Moreover... In addition... Furthermore... In conclusion" — har gapda linker = mexanik, band tushiradi. Band 9: linkerlar kerakli joyda, ko'pincha reference/lexical kogeziya bilan.
  • "however" o'rni — gap o'rtasida ham: "The plan, however, failed." (faqat gap boshida emas — o'rtada nozikroq). Vergul bilan ajratiladi.
  • Conjunctive adverb ≠ bog'lovchi (comma splice tuzog'i — band 9 nozikligi): however, therefore, moreover, nevertheless, thus, consequently — bular grammatik jihatdan bog'lovchi (conjunction) emas, balki ravish (adverb). Shuning uchun ular ikki mustaqil gapni faqat vergul bilan bog'lay olmaydi: "It rained, however we stayed." — bu comma splice (band tushiradi). To'g'ri: nuqta yoki nuqtali vergul + vergul "It rained. 6. Holat/case yechimlari

1. "I have a problem. The problem is serious." — takror.

8. Dialog/matn (kogeziya — IELTS esse fragmenti, izohli)

Savol: Some believe technology improves communication; others disagree. Discuss.

Band 9 paragraf (kogeziya belgilangan):

9. O'qish — graded matn (C1 — kogeziya haqida, meta)

The invisible thread

Good writing, it is often said, should be invisible — and nowhere is this truer than in the matter of cohesion. The reader of a well-constructed essay glides effortlessly from one idea to the next, scarcely noticing the devices that carry them along. This ease is no accident; it is the product of careful, almost imperceptible engineering.

Weaker writers, by contrast, tend to over-signal. Anxious that their connections might be missed, they bolt a conspicuous linker onto every sentence — "Firstly," "Moreover," "In conclusion" — until the prose reads like a checklist. The irony is that this very anxiety undermines them: cohesion that draws attention to itself is, by definition, imperfect.

The skilled writer works differently. They lean on reference — a well-placed "this" or "such" — to gather up a whole idea and carry it forward. They reach for synonyms and related words, weaving a quiet lexical thread through the text. And they trust the logical order of their ideas to do much of the work that a lesser writer would entrust to explicit signposts.

The result is prose that holds together not because it is bolted together, but because it was conceived as a whole. For coherence, in the end, is not something added to writing afterwards, like glue to broken pieces. It is something built into it from the very first thought — the invisible thread on which every word is strung.

11. Chuqur tahlil — qo'shimcha faktlar va nozikliklar (IELTS 9 fokusi)

C1 dan C2 ga ko'prik.

(a) IELTS CC band deskriptori — aniq. Band 6: "uses cohesive devices effectively, but... may be overused or mechanical." Band 7: "logically organises... clear progression." Band 9: "uses cohesion... such that it attracts no attention; skilfully manages paragraphing." Kalit so'z: "attracts no attention" (sezilmaydi) + "paragraphing". Mexanik linker = band 6; sezilmas + mukammal paragraf = band 9.

(b) Over-use — band 7 "shisha shifti". Ko'p nomzod band 7 da qoladi, chunki har gapni linker bilan boshlaydi ("Firstly... Secondly... Moreover... Furthermore..."). Bu "effektiv, lekin mexanik" (band 6-7). Band 8+ ga o'tish — linkerlarni kamaytirib, reference/lexical kogeziyaga o'tish. Bu — eng muhim CC maslahati.

(c) "This/that + summarising noun" — band 9 quroli. Oldingi butun gap/g'oyani bitta otga qadoqlash: "...unemployment rose. This development...", "...they disagreed. This disagreement...". Summarising noun (development, trend, phenomenon, issue, approach, situation, factor) — akademik kogeziyaning eng kuchli vositasi. Yolg'iz this — noaniq; this + ot — aniq va sofistik.

(d) Theme-rheme — informatsion oqim. Har gap ma'lum (theme — gap boshida) dan yangi (rheme — oxirida) ga oqadi. Keyingi gap oldingining "yangi"sini "ma'lum" qilib oladi (givennew zanjiri). Bu — sezilmas kogeziya: "We need a plan. The plan must be realistic. Realism requires...". End-weight (og'ir/yangi ma'lumot oxirida) — tabiiy oqim.

(e) Coherence — paragraf "me'morchiligi". Band 9 paragraf: topic sentence (asosiy g'oya) supporting sentences (tushuntirish) example/evidence (dalil) link (xulosa yoki keyingiga ko'prik). Har paragraf — "mini-esse". IELTS examiner paragraf tuzilishini aniq baholaydi ("skilfully manages paragraphing").

(f) Signposting — "yozuvchi mas'uliyatli". Ingliz akademik yozuvda yozuvchi o'quvchiga xaritani ko'rsatadi: "This essay will examine...", "There are three main arguments.", "Having considered X, let us turn to Y." Bu — ochiq yo'l ko'rsatish. Lekin haddan ko'p signpost (har jumlada) — mexanik. Balans: muhim burilishlarda signpost.

(g) Speaking'da coherence — "fluency" bilan birga. Speaking band 9 "Fluency and Coherence": g'oyalarni mantiqiy bog'lab, duduqlanmasdan gapirish. Discourse markerlar (well, you see, the thing is, what I mean is, anyway, as I was saying) — og'zaki kogeziya. Ular Writing linkerlaridan farq qiladi (og'zaki, tabiiy). Fillerlar (C1-37) ham fluency'ga yordam beradi.

(h) Referencing zanjiri — uzilmasligi kerak. "The CEO... she... her decision... this move... it..." — referent (kim/nima) doim aniq bo'lishi shart. Noaniq olmosh ("it" — nima?) — kogeziyani buzadi (o'quvchi adashadi). Band 9 — har olmosh/reference aniq bir narsaga ishora qiladi.

(i) Punktuatsiya — kogeziya quroli. Nuqtali vergul (;) bog'liq gaplarni bog'laydi ("It rained; we stayed in."); ikki nuqta (:) tushuntirish/ro'yxat; tire (—) qo'shimcha fikr. Mohir punktuatsiya — sezilmas kogeziya va akademik nazokat. Band 9 yozuvchi punktuatsiyani mohirona ishlatadi.

(j) L1 transfer — "yashirin bog'lanish". O'zbek/rus yozuv an'anasi ko'pincha bog'lanishni kontekstdan kutadi (reader-responsible). Ingliz akademik yozuvda bu kam ball beradi — bog'lanish ko'rsatilmagan deb baholanadi. O'zbek yozuvchi "bu aniq-ku" deb qoldirgan ulanishni — inglizchada ochiq yozish kerak. Bu ong o'zgarishi — IELTS Writing band 8+ uchun shart.

C2 ko'prik (IELTS 9native): kogeziya — "ko'rinmas ip" (the invisible thread). C2/band 9 da matningiz o'z-o'zidan oqadi — bog'lanish boshidan g'oyaga "qurilgan", keyin yopishtirilmagan.
