In 2007, the British Museum attracted around 5.8 million visitors, considerably more than the National Gallery (4.2 million) and the Science Museum (2.6 million). 9. O'qish — graded matn (C1 — Task 1 strategiyasi, meta)
The discipline of describing
There is a peculiar discipline in describing data well — one that runs counter to the instincts of most writers. Where an essay invites opinion, interpretation, and argument, a data description demands their absence. The task is not to explain why a trend occurred, nor to judge whether it is good or bad, but simply, faithfully, to report what the figures show.
The greatest temptation, and the most common failure, is to drown in detail. Faced with a graph of twenty data points, the anxious writer reports all twenty, marching dutifully from one to the next until the description reads like a spreadsheet read aloud. The skilled writer does the opposite. They step back, identify the two or three features that truly matter — the highest peak, the steepest fall, the surprising overtaking — and build their account around these.
This is the function of the overview: a short, deliberate pause near the beginning in which the writer names the big picture before descending into the particulars. It is the single most important paragraph in any data description, and the one most often omitted. Without it, the reader sees the trees but never the forest.
Master this restraint — this discipline of selection — and the rest follows naturally. For describing data well is not, in the end, about knowing many words for "increase." It is about knowing which increases are worth describing at all.

C1 dan C2 ga ko'prik.
(a) Task Achievement band 9 — aniq deskriptor. "Fully satisfies all the requirements; clearly presents a fully developed response." Va alohida: "a clear overview of main trends, differences or stages." Overview — deskriptorda alohida ko'rsatilgan. Usiz band 6 maksimum (TA).
