A2 — 2-dars: Past Simple — "to be" (was / were)
A2 — ELEMENTAR · 2-dars
1. Dars nomi, maqsad va motivatsiya
Bugun siz o'tmishga birinchi qadamingizni qo'yasiz! A1 da to be ning hozirgi shaklini (am/is/are) o'rgandingiz; endi uning o'tgan zamon shakli — was / were ("edim, eding, edi") ni o'rganasiz.
Bu — o'tmish haqida gapirishning eng birinchi va eng muhim g'ishti. I was at home (Men uyda edim), She was tired (U charchagan edi), They were happy (Ular xursand edi). O'tmishdagi holat, joy, his-tuyg'u va xususiyatni shu fe'l bilan aytasiz.
Real hayotda nega kerak:
- O'tmishdagi holatni aytish: "I was busy yesterday." "The film was great."
- Tajriba haqida (intervyu!): "I was a junior developer at my last job." "The project was challenging."
- Hikoya qilish: har qanday o'tmish hikoyasi was/were siz qurilmaydi.
- Keyingi barcha o'tgan zamonlarning (Past Simple, Past Continuous) poydevori.
O'xshatish: to be — tilning "umurtqa pog'onasi". A1 da uning "bugungi" qismini (am/is/are) o'rgandingiz. Bugun shu pog'onaning "kechagi" qismini (was/were) qo'shyapsiz. Bir xil fe'l, faqat vaqt o'qida orqaga surilgan.
Tushuncha: o'zbekchada o'tgan zamon "edi" yordamchisi yoki "-di" qo'shimchasi bilan beriladi: "uyda edim", "charchagan edi". Inglizcha was/were aynan shu "edi" ning muqobili. Yaxshi xabar: ingliz tilida to be ning o'tgan shakli atigi ikkita — was va were (hozirgi uchta — am/is/are dan oson!).
2. Avvalgi darsdan takror
- A1 5-dars (to be hozirgi): I am, he/she/it is, you/we/they are.
- A2 1-dars (Present Continuous): to be + V-ing (I am working). Bugungi was/were keyingi darsda Past Continuous (was working) uchun ham kerak bo'ladi.
- Tez mashq: hozirgi shaklga qo'ying: I ___, she ___, they ___ (am/is/are). Bugun shularning o'tgan shaklini ko'ramiz.
3. Grammatika — chuqur tushuntirish
3.1. was va were — qaysi birini qachon
to be ning o'tgan zamonda atigi ikkita shakli bor. Qaysi birini tanlash egaga bog'liq:
| Ega | to be (o'tgan) | Misol | O'zbekcha |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | was | I was at home. | Men uyda edim. |
| He / She / It | was | She was tired. | U charchagan edi. |
| You | were | You were right. | Siz haq edingiz. |
| We | were | We were friends. | Biz do'st edik. |
| They | were | They were late. | Ular kech qolishdi. |
QOIDA (yodlang):
I / he / she / it WAS
you / we / they WEREOltin qoida: was — birlik (I, he, she, it); were — ko'plik (we, they) va you (har doim, hatto bitta odamga bo'lsa ham — A1 4-darsdagidek, you doim were).
Diqqat — hozirgi bilan solishtiring:
- am (I) o'tganda was
- is (he/she/it) o'tganda was
- are (you/we/they) o'tganda were Ya'ni: am va is (ikkalasi birlik) was; are (ko'plik) were.
O'zbek so'zlovchi uchun eng asosiy tuzoq: o'zbekchada "edi" ega bilan o'zgarmaydi — "men edim", "sen eding", "ular edi" — ildiz bir xil ("edi"), faqat oxiri o'zgaradi. Shuning uchun ko'pchilik ingliz tilida ham bitta shakl bo'lsa kerak deb o'ylab, you was, they was yoki I were deb xato qiladi. Ingliz tilida esa ega ildizni tanlaydi: was (I/he/she/it) yoki were (you/we/they). Avval egaga qarang, keyin shaklni tanlang — bu odat bo'lib qolsin.
Yodlash hiylasi: were ga to'g'ri keladigan egalar barchasi ko'plikka o'xshaydi — you, we, they (siz/biz/ular). Qolgan hammasi (I, he, she, it — "bitta") was. Faqat you birlik odamga aytilsa ham were oladi (ingliz tilida you grammatik jihatdan doim "ko'plik"dek ishlaydi).
3.2. Nimani bildiradi (foydalanish)
was/were — o'tmishdagi holat, joy, sifat, his, yosh, vaqtni bildiradi (harakat emas — harakat keyingi darsda -ed bilan):
Holat/his: I was tired. She was happy. We were excited.
Joy: He was at work. They were in London.
Sifat: The film was boring. The food was delicious.
Yosh: I was 18 last year. — O'tgan yili 18 yoshda edim.
Vaqt/ob-havo: It was cold yesterday. — Kecha sovuq edi.
Kasb (o'tmish): He was a teacher. — U o'qituvchi edi.3.3. Inkor — wasn't / weren't
Inkor uchun was/were dan keyin not:
was + not was not wasn't
were + not were not weren'tI wasn't at home. — Uyda emas edim.
She wasn't happy. — U xursand emas edi.
We weren't ready. — Tayyor emas edik.
They weren't there. — Ular u yerda emas edi.3.4. Savol — was/were ni oldinga
A1 dagi to be savolidek — was/were ni gap boshiga:
Was + ega ... ? Were + ega ... ?Were you at the party? Yes, I was. / No, I wasn't. — Bazmda edingizmi?
Was she ill? Yes, she was. / No, she wasn't. — U kasal edimi?
Were they at home? Yes, they were. / No, they weren't.Qisqa javob: Yes, I was / No, I wasn't (qisqa javobda qisqartirilmaydi ijobiyda: Yes, I was , Yes, I'm uslubida emas).
Diqqat — qisqa javobda ega o'zgaradi: savol you bilan bo'lsa, javob I bilan bo'ladi (xuddi o'zbekchadagidek: "Sen uydamiding? — Ha, men uyda edim"). Were you happy? — Yes, I was. (savol were, javob was — chunki javobda ega I ga o'zgardi!). Was he there? — Yes, he was. Har doim javobdagi egani belgilab, unga mos shaklni tanlang.
Mini-mashq (savoljavob): quyidagi savollarga qisqa ijobiy javob bering.
- Were they at work? — Yes, ___.
- Was the food good? — Yes, ___.
- Were you tired? — Yes, ___.
Javob: 1. they were · 2. it was · 3. I was (savolda you javobda I).
3.5. Wh- savollar (so'roq so'z bilan)
So'roq so'z + was/were + ega:
Where were you? — Qayerda edingiz?
Why was he angry? — Nega jahli chiqqan edi?
How was your day? — Kuningiz qanday o'tdi? (juda keng ishlatiladi!)
What was the problem? — Muammo nima edi?
Who was that? — U kim edi?
When were you born? — Qachon tug'ilgansiz? (tug'ilish — doim *was/were born*)Native siri — "How was...?": How was your day? / How was your weekend? / How was the trip? — ingliz tilida eng ko'p ishlatiladigan kundalik savollardan. "Qanday o'tdi?" ma'nosini beradi. Javob: It was great / good / OK / not bad / terrible. Yodlab oling.
3.6. there was / there were (o'tganda "bor edi")
A1 17-darsdagi there is/are ning o'tgan shakli:
there is there was (birlik)
there are there were (ko'plik)There was a party last night. — Kecha bazm bor edi.
There were many people there. — U yerda ko'p odam bor edi.
There wasn't any food. — Hech qanday ovqat yo'q edi.
Were there any problems? — Muammolar bormi edi?Muhim — was/were ni nima tanlaydi? Bu yerda ega yo'q; shaklni keyingi ot tanlaydi. Bitta narsa bo'lsa there was (there was a party — bitta bazm). Ko'p narsa bo'lsa there were (there were many people — ko'p odam). Ya'ni: ot birlikmi yoki ko'plikmi — shunga qarang.
There was a problem. (bitta) was
There were three problems. (uchta) wereMini-mashq (there was / there were): to'ldiring.
- There ___ a good film on TV last night.
- There ___ a lot of cars on the road.
- There ___ no water in the bottle.
- There ___ many mistakes in my test.
Javob: 1. was (a film — bitta) · 2. were (cars — ko'plik) · 3. was (water — sanalmaydigan, birlikdek) · 4. were (mistakes — ko'plik).
3.7. "was/were born" — tug'ilish (maxsus ibora)
Tug'ilish haqida ingliz tili passiv shakl ishlatadi — be born (so'zma-so'z "tug'ilgan bo'lmoq"):
I was born in 2005. — 2005 yilda tug'ilganman.
She was born in Tashkent. — U Toshkentda tug'ilgan.
Where were you born? — Qayerda tug'ilgansiz?Diqqat: I born () yoki I am born () emas — har doim I was born. Bu — tayyor ibora, yodlang.
3.8. O'tgan zamon vaqt so'zlari (signal so'zlar)
Quyidagi so'zlar gap o'tmishda ekanini bildiradi — was/were (va keyingi -ed) bilan keladi:
yesterday (kecha) last night/week/month/year (o'tgan kecha/hafta/oy/yil)
ago (oldin): two days ago, an hour ago, long ago
in 2010, in the past, then, at that time
when I was a child (bolaligimda)I was busy yesterday. — Kecha band edim.
She was here two hours ago. — U ikki soat oldin shu yerda edi.
We were classmates in 2018. — 2018 da sinfdosh edik.
When I was young, I was very shy. — Yoshligimda juda uyatchan edim.
When I was a child, we were poor. — Bolaligimda kambag'al edik.Diqqat — "ago" o'zbekcha "oldin" bilan teskari tartibda: ingliz tilida vaqt oldin, "ago" keyin keladi — two days ago (so'zma-so'z "ikki kun oldin"), an hour ago, a long time ago. O'zbekchada "ikki kun oldin" — tartib boshqacha, shuning uchun ago before () demang, faqat ago.
Diqqat — "when I was..." o'tmish bo'lagi: when I was a child / when I was young / when I was at school — bu iboralar butun gapni o'tmishga tortadi, shuning uchun ikkala bo'lakda ham o'tgan zamon bo'ladi: When I was young, I was happy (ikkalasi ham was). Bir bo'lagini hozirgi qoldirmang.
4. Misollar (shakllar bo'yicha)
IJOBIY:
I was at the office all day. — Kun bo'yi ofisda edim.
The weather was beautiful. — Ob-havo go'zal edi.

- Zaif (urg'usiz, odatdagi): /wəz/ "wəz" — gapda odatda shunday: I was busy "ay wəz bizi".
- Kuchli (urg'uli, ta'kid/javob): /wɒz/ "woz" — Yes, I was "woz"; inkorda wasn't /ˈwɒznt/ "woznt".
(b) were — ikki xil:
- Zaif: /wə/ "wə" — We were late "wi wə leyt".
- Kuchli: /wɜː/ "wə:" — Yes, we were; inkor weren't /wɜːnt/ "wə:nt".
Native siri: native nutqda was/were deyarli har doim zaif (wəz/wə) — yutilib ketadi. Faqat ta'kidlaganda yoki qisqa javobda kuchli bo'ladi. "I was tired" ni "ay-wəz-tayəd" deb tez ayting, "ay WOZ tayəd" emas. Bu — tabiiy ritm.
(c) wasn't / weren't farqi (eshitib ajratish):
wasn't /ˈwɒznt/ "woznt" vs weren't /wɜːnt/ "wə:nt"Bu ikkisini eshitib ajratish muhim — minimal pair.
Topshiriq: I was, she was, you were, they were ni zaif shaklda tez ayting. So'ng "How was your day? — It was great!" dialogini native ohangda mashq qiling (Youglish: "how was your day").
