1. Dars nomi, maqsad va motivatsiya

Real hayotda nega kerak:

• Sabab: "The flight was delayed due to fog."
• Natija: "Sales fell; as a result, jobs were cut."
• Kuch ta'kidi: "It was so cold that the pipes froze."
• Akademik: "Deforestation leads to soil erosion."

ASOSIY tushuncha — yo'nalishni aniqlang: sababdan natijaga, yoki aksincha. Har bir bog'lovchi "qaysi qism sabab, qaysi qism natija"ni belgilaydi:

O'xshatish — "domino zanjiri": sabab-natija — yiqilayotgan dominolar. because — "orqaga ko'rsatadi" (bu domino nega yiqildi? — oldingisi tufayli). so/therefore — "oldinga ko'rsatadi" (bu domino yiqildi, shuning uchun keyingisi yiqiladi). lead to/result in — "bu domino keyingisini yiqitadi". Yo'nalishni bilsangiz, to'g'ri bog'lovchini tanlaysiz.

Til fakti: ingliz tilida sababiyatni ifodalashning ikki yo'li bor: bog'lovchilar (because, so) va fe'llar (cause, lead to, result in). Akademik yozuv fe'llarni afzal ko'radi (X leads to Y — X happens, so Y happens dan ko'ra zichroq va obro'liroq). Bu — B2 dan C1 ga o'tishning belgisi: sabab-natijani fe'l bilan ifodalash.

3. Grammatika — chuqur, to'liq tushuntirish

3.1. SABAB bog'lovchilari (natija sabab)

BOG'LOVCHI + GAP:   because, since, as, seeing that, given that
PREDLOG + OT/-ing:  because of, due to, owing to, on account of, thanks to,
                    as a result of, as a consequence of

We stayed home because it was raining.        (+ gap)
The match was cancelled because of the rain.   (+ ot)
Owing to heavy traffic, I was late.            (+ ot)
Thanks to your help, we succeeded.             (+ ot, ijobiy)

because vs because of:

• because + GAP (ega + fe'l): because it was raining.
• because of / due to / owing to + OT/-ing: because of the rain. because of it was raining because it was raining yoki because of the rain.

3.2. NATIJA bog'lovchilari (sabab natija)

BOG'LOVCHI:  so (+ gap)
RAVISH:      therefore, consequently, as a result, thus, hence, accordingly

It was late, so we left.                    (so + gap, vergul)
It was late. Therefore, we left.            (yangi gap)
Sales dropped; consequently, prices rose.   (; + ravish + vergul)

so — gap ichida; therefore/consequently/as a result/thus/hence — yangi gap (nuqta/; + vergul). (B2-31 punktuatsiya qoidalari.)

3.3. so ... that — SIFAT/RAVISH bilan kuch

so + sifat/ravish + that + natija

It was so cold that the pipes froze.
She spoke so quietly that no one could hear.
I was so tired that I fell asleep at my desk.

so + sifat/ravish + that = "shunchalik ... -ki". so — sifat yoki ravish bilan (so cold, so quickly). that ko'pincha tushiriladi (og'zaki): so tired (that) I slept.

3.4. such ... that — OT bilan kuch

such + (a/an) + (sifat) + ot + that + natija

It was such a cold day that the pipes froze.
She has such talent that everyone admires her.  (sanalmaydigan — a yo'q)
They were such kind people that we felt at home. (ko'plik — a yo'q)

so vs such — ENG MUHIM farq:

3.6. Sababiyat FE'LLARI (akademik — chuqur)

lead to / result in / cause + OT (X leads to Y). result from / stem from + OT (Y results from X — teskari). Bu fe'llar akademik yozuvni zich qiladi.

4. Native nozikliklari va qo'shimcha qoidalar

• due to vs because of (rasmiy qoida): an'anaviy — due to sifatdan keyin (The delay was due to...), because of fe'l bilan (cancelled because of...). Amalda almashtiriladi, lekin rasmiy yozuvda farqlash yaxshi.
• since/as — sabab (= because), lekin yumshoqroq: Since it's late, let's go. (sabab allaqachon ma'lum). Gap boshida ko'p.
• thanks to — ijobiy sabab: Thanks to you, I passed. (yaxshilik). due to/owing to — neytral/salbiy.
• so that — MAQSAD (B2-34), so...that — natija. I left early so that I could catch the train (maqsad) ≠ I was so tired that I slept (natija). Farqlang!
• hence — qisqa, rasmiy: He's new; hence the confusion. (ko'pincha otni to'g'ridan boshqaradi).
• that's why / that's because: That's why I left (= shuning uchun — natija). That's because it was late (= chunki — sabab).
• Sababiyat fe'llari — konnotatsiya (fe'l tanlashda muhim): cause — ko'pincha salbiy natija bilan (cause damage / problems / cancer / an accident); lead to / result in — neytral, har qanday natijaga (yaxshi yoki yomon); bring about — ko'pincha ataylab qilingan yoki ijobiy o'zgarish (bring about reform / change); give rise to — rasmiy, odatda muammo/savol/tashvish "tug'diradi" (give rise to concern / speculation); trigger — to'satdan, keskin boshlanish (trigger a reaction / a crisis). 5. Ko'p misollar

SABAB:    We failed because we didn't prepare. / due to lack of preparation.
NATIJA:   We didn't prepare, so we failed. / ...; therefore, we failed.
SO...THAT: It was so hot that we couldn't sleep.
SUCH...THAT: It was such a hot night that we couldn't sleep.
SO MANY:  There were so many mistakes that we restarted.
FE'L:     Poverty leads to crime. / The error resulted in losses.
          Climate change is caused by emissions.

6. Holat/case yechimlari (kengaytirilgan)

1. "Yomg'ir tufayli o'yin bekor qilindi."

• The match was cancelled because of / due to the rain. (+ ot)
• ...because it rained. (+ gap). because of it rained.

2. "Shunchalik sovuq ediki, men uyda qoldim."

• It was so cold that I stayed home. (so + sifat + that).

3. "Shunday sovuq kun ediki..."

• It was such a cold day that... (such + a + sifat + ot). so cold day.

4. "Shunchalik ko'p ish bor ediki, kech qoldim."

• There was so much work that I stayed late. / ...such a lot of work that...

5. "Stress kasallikka olib keladi." (akademik fe'l)

• Stress leads to / causes illness. (zich, akademik).

6. "Kechikishlar bo'rondan kelib chiqdi." (teskari yo'nalish)

• The delays resulted from / were caused by the storm.

7. "Sizning yordamingiz tufayli muvaffaqiyat qozondim." (ijobiy)

8. so that vs so...that:

• I studied hard so that I would pass. (maqsad).
• I was so nervous that I forgot everything. (natija).

7. Kengaytirilgan lug'at + kollokatsiya (sabab-natija)

Tayyor iboralar (akademik):

• This can be attributed to... — Buni ... bilan izohlash mumkin.

9. O'qish — graded matn (kengaytirilgan)

The butterfly effect

In complex systems, small causes can lead to enormous effects. A tiny change in one place may result in dramatic consequences elsewhere — a phenomenon so striking that scientists named it "the butterfly effect."

Consider climate. Rising temperatures cause ice to melt, which gives rise to higher sea levels. This, in turn, leads to flooding. The flooding brings about displacement, and as a consequence, social tension rises.

The problem is such a complex one that simple solutions rarely work. Many crises stem from causes we barely understand. Owing to this complexity, experts often disagree.

Yet one thing is clear: ignoring small problems results in larger ones. Because everything is connected, what we do today will, sooner or later, have an impact on tomorrow. For this reason, action — however small — matters.

(a) "so...that" — inversiya bilan (adabiy, B2-29). So serious was the situation that... (= The situation was so serious that...). So boshda inversiya. Yuqori uslub/ta'kid.

(b) "such...that" — inversiya bilan. Such was the chaos that no one could move. Such + was + ot (B2-29). Rasmiy/adabiy.

(c) "result in" vs "result from" — yo'nalish teskari. X results in Y (X = sabab, Y = natija). Y results from X (Y = natija, X = sabab). Predlog yo'nalishni belgilaydi — eng ko'p chalkashtiriladigan joy.

(d) "lead to + -ing/ot". This led to a crisis / led to prices rising. Keyin ot yoki -ing (gerund). led to + to-infinitive.

(e) "cause" — ikki naqsh. cause + ot (cause damage) yoki cause + sb + to + V1 (The noise caused me to wake up). Ikki tuzilma.

(f) "due to the fact that" — ortiqcha. due to the fact that it rained = because it rained (qisqaroq, yaxshiroq). Akademik yozuvda due to the fact that ko'p, lekin because tabiiyroq.

(g) "consequently/hence/thus" — register. thus, hence — eng rasmiy/akademik. consequently, as a result — rasmiy. so — neytral/og'zaki. Matn registriga moslang.

(h) Sabab-natija zanjiri — "in turn". X leads to Y, which in turn leads to Z. — ko'p bosqichli sababiyatni ko'rsatish. Akademik insho/tahlilda kuchli vosita.

C1 ko'prik: akademik yozuvda sababiyatni fe'l bilan (X causes/leads to/results in Y) va zanjir bilan (which in turn...) ifodalash — band 7-8 belgisi. Bog'lovchi (because/so) — oddiy; fe'l — sofistikatsiyalangan va zich.
